Boat trailers fail more often than the boats sitting on them. They live in salt water every time you launch, drag through sand, sit unused for months, and then get asked to do highway speeds with a fully loaded boat on top. Most owners think about the boat and forget about the trailer until the bearings smoke on the side of Route 3.

We service bearings every season for trailers that see saltwater submersion, repack with marine grease, and replace seals at the first sign of leak. Bearing Buddies and similar grease-injection caps extend the interval but they are not a substitute for proper service.

Brakes are the other major failure point. Disc brakes are now standard on most modern trailers and they are far more reliable than the old surge drum systems, but they still corrode in salt water if not flushed after each use. We diagnose brake actuator issues, replace pads and rotors, rebuild calipers, and convert older drum systems to disc where the trailer frame supports it. Lights and wiring fail constantly on boat trailers because the wiring sits in salt water and the bulbs see vibration that no road trailer sees. We rewire with marine-grade harnesses and LED fixtures, which last many seasons longer than the OEM equivalents.
