Tohatsu has been building outboard motors since 1956, making it Japan's oldest outboard manufacturer and today the world's number two outboard producer. That long history shows up where it counts: in lightweight, fuel-efficient four-stroke engines that start reliably and run cleanly season after season. Distributed in the United States by Tohatsu America Corp, the four-stroke MFS lineup now spans 2.5 to 250 hp, from grab-and-go portables all the way up to a high-output V6 range built for bigger center consoles.

Tohatsu is a strong match for the boats people actually run around here. The portable and mid-range MFS motors are a natural fit for inflatables and RIBs, dinghies and tenders, sailboat auxiliary (kicker) motors, skiffs, jon boats, and aluminum fishing boats, while the larger MFS and V6 models move small and mid-size center consoles.
